April 2008

I’m posting this link because I feel that the PSA’s linked represent something I feel strongly about in the horror genre. I believe that horror films work best, not when they are finding ways to showcase death ala, Hostel and the Saw films, but when they reaffirm the value of life.

So I got confused about when I had a meeting with some people flying in from other places. Turns out it’s on Friday, not Monday. So I’m here bright and early today but no one else is. Shrugs.
The good news is that after three months of scrounging and selling stuff on ebay to survive and pay rent I am finally in the black enough to afford food and rent. It’s all because of this job. I’m so relieved. I work at Injection Molding Magazine as an office assistant. I’ve been putting their magazine on their official website for awhile. It’s a fun job and the people are very friendly. It’s interesting because I’ve had a number of corporate jobs and this one is the first that feels really nice.

I went to Kelly’s birthday party and had a good time.
Jenny couldn’t come because she was at a school thing looking at earth homes.

Recently I discovered that I deleted all but part of my photo archive. I’ve been trying to get files from the last half of my trip back, but I am losing hope as the data recovery software is only bring back information like the operating system and mp3s. :/ It’s a pretty big loss. I’m glad I backed up all of my film media. I’m still pretty upset about it though. I lost everything from my second day in New Mexico forward. I also don’t have the originals, all I have is what was posted on Picasa or Flickr. :/ Incredibly lame.
This also means I lost all the location scouting photos. Thankfully the production photos themselves weren’t stuck in the archive yet.

In short, iView Media Pro is a crap program. It can’t archive or automatically disc span so it’s basically useless. It’s also the reason I didn’t back up my entire photo archive months ago. Screw this program and screw the bastards that made it.

A Russian Finnish!!! sci-fi comedy is coming that is about Space Nazis coming back to earth to take over in 2018.

Recently I finished shooting my short film, “It’s Cold Between Us.” It took a lot of work and I’m now in debt. I’ll write a full post mortem for the film shoot eventually because the production team had to overcome some huge obstacles. The biggest being my school’s ridiculous backwards management structure.
