After going through hell week I succeeded with a group of team members in my sound class with creating a basic sound edit of Fisherman’s Blues. It needs to be mixed a lot better than it was but it’s basically fine.
Also, in more exciting news…. I’m moving onward on Leaving Indiana. I’ve met with a number of actors and I’m having to decide between a few people. I’ve made up my mind about one of the parts, but I need to do another audition to be sure. Everybody who came out did a good job. I’m going to cast a few people in future projects.
I’m also thinking a lot about a friends from Indiana for some reason.
I’m also selling or giving away the majority of the left over hardware and tech crap that I have had lying around for like a year or so now. I’m going to have to get a new apartment alone soon and I’m both looking forward to it and begrudging the additional costs. I think I’m going to go after some low income housing.
Well, I’m in the midst of hell week. That’s right folks, it’s 3:36 AM and I’m working on a sound mix for a film. I’m supposed to have it done by tommorrow after noon.
In the news about Leaving Indiana, I’m having an audition with two actors tommorrow and then another on Friday. I’m shooting on 35mm and I’m pushing the date back a week so that I can have a bit more time to get all the necessary stuff together. Fun times. I also have a lead on a gigantic ranch that might be sympathic to our filmschool student cause.
Okay, crunch time.
I’m now the main producer of my film, “Leaving Indiana”. I am having to pull up my boot straps and in one week get EVERYthing together. My original producer left due to personal commitments. I have a Director of Photography. We have a game plan. I have to get a variety of things to make this happen. It’s going to be a very, very intese film making bonanza. I’m also finishing April Frame’s 16mm sound edit along with a few special effects in it as well. I have a number of interested actors and I need to get the rest of my crew. I’m shooting the first week in May. I don’t get away from work until Sunday. I really wish that my job didn’t use me as the go to guy to fill in hours. At least my boss only gave me two days next week.
So one good thing to note. I might be filming on 35 mm film. Horray. Will update int he morning when I have a finished breakdown.

This is my version of a music video I had to edit for a class credit. I chose a different song and a different storyline for the footage.
Well, I took some advice and I did two things. One was I wrote an email to the casting agencies in town asking for actors. I also offered 50 dollars for the actors to come in and work on the film for all three days. Evidently the actors in town have been somewhat mistreated on other sets and not paid for it, so long story short. I’ve been inundated with phone calls and emails from actors wanting to be in my movie.
My killer web design (cough, cough) might have helped with my introduction too. www.krisboruff.com
In other news, April Frame’s movie is coming along swimmingly. I suggested the film for my team in my sound class and they all agreed. So I have three other people working with me to get the movie’s sound track in shape. Today we did a bunch of foley with tackle boxes. This project will be a lot of work, but I think it’s going to end up looking and sounding really good.
Oh, and my film’s set might be catered with really good film. A friend of mine that is a cook at high class restaurants said he might be interested in cooking for my crew depending on the days. Huzzah!!!
And one final note… I did a director’s commentary for my highschool film, “Decisions” with Thomas, Rayne, and Chris. They had never seen it before and Thomas was playing a guitar. It was a lot of fun and the dvd should be ridiculous.
