I know this is going to sound odd, but Lost has been part of my life since I got to Colorado. Both started about the same time. Now that I’m leaving and Lost has ended almost at the same time, it feels strange. I find myself thinking of all the friendships I made over the years in Colorado. The relationships I had during this or that season. The fact I almost moved to Florida instead of Colorado. It feels in a weird way, like everything has come to a close, but is also starting all over again.
“You get to monkey-swinging and things like that and you can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on Steven [Spielberg, who directed]. But the actor’s job is to make it come alive and make it work, and I couldn’t do it. So that’s my fault. Simple.”

I blame this movie on me being forced into celibacy for the last two and a half years. That’s right, it was that bad.

So, you might have found this through Google.com. Hello.
If you are getting the error, “After Effects error: the chosen file cannot be read as a Cineon FIDO or SMPTE DPX”, it is most likely due to crappy header encoding in Apple Color.
I love the scopes but hate the bugs Color.
The solution is this:
Open the file in Photoshop, then save it making no changes, an then close it again. That is it.
Make a Droplet that does it and you are set.
When I made the Droplet I ran into a bug where Photoshop didn’t have the .DPX extension available.
I recorded a unneeded step before clicking Save and Close.
After this I deleted the un-needed step and the droplet was ready.
It works by wiping out the bad header information, but the file opens in every program properly, though Nuke will need to be told the color space.
Thanks!
